Sony Photography Lenses

Sony's photography lens portfolio centers on the E mount, which spans both APS-C and full-frame mirrorless bodies. The full-frame FE designation covers most of the company's current development effort, with the G Master line representing the premium tier — lenses such as the FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II, FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II, and FE 50mm f/1.2 GM are designed to meet professional resolution and bokeh requirements while keeping size and weight competitive with comparable offerings from Canon and Nikon. The G-branded line, below the G Master tier, includes compact primes and zooms aimed at travel and hybrid use, while E-mount APS-C lenses retain a smaller but actively updated catalog for the ZV-E10, a6000-series, and FX30 bodies.

Sony also continues to produce A-mount lenses for legacy SLT and DSLR bodies, though new development in that mount has effectively ceased. The lens roadmap on the E side benefits from third-party openness: Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, and Zeiss all produce full-AF E-mount lenses, expanding the practical catalog well beyond Sony's first-party output. This open licensing approach has helped E-mount establish one of the broadest mirrorless lens ecosystems available.
