Angelbird

Angelbird Technologies GmbH is an Austrian company that designs and makes storage media for film, photo and audio production: memory cards, solid-state drives and related accessories. Roman Rabitsch, an electronic engineer and musician, founded it in 2011 and remains its CEO and managing director. The company is registered in Dornbirn, in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.

Angelbird keeps most of its production in-house, from research and design through engineering, testing and assembly, and works with selected regional partners for parts of manufacturing. It is certified to ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management).

Its first product was a host bus adapter; the company's growth came with the spread of video recording on DSLR cameras. Angelbird has since developed custom storage media with ARRI, RED and Atomos, and makes CFexpress, SD and SSD media for cinema cameras and recorders, with a published compatibility check that matches its cards to specific camera models.
