Fujifilm

FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation is a Japanese holding company whose group works in healthcare, including medical systems and contract biopharmaceutical manufacturing, electronic materials for semiconductors and displays, office and document solutions, and imaging. It was established on January 20, 1934, as Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., when Dainippon Celluloid (now Daicel) spun off its photographic film business. In October 2006 it became a holding company under its current name, and its operating business passed to the newly formed FUJIFILM Corporation. FUJIFILM Business Innovation, formerly Fuji Xerox, makes its office copiers and printers.

Fujifilm sold Japan's first domestically made motion picture positive film in 1934, and in 1940 began making optical glass at Odawara, the origin of its FUJINON lenses. Fuji Photo Optical, acquired in 1944, became Fujinon Corporation in 2004 and was integrated into Fujifilm in 2010; FUJINON remains the brand of its photographic, broadcast and cinema lenses.

Fujifilm developed the FUJIX DS-1P, which it describes as the first fully digital camera, in 1988. It released the X100 in 2011, introduced the X mount with the X-Pro1 in 2012 and began selling the GFX 50S, its first G-mount medium format mirrorless camera, in 2017.
