Fujinon
FUJIFILM Corporation
FUJINON is the lens brand of FUJIFILM Corporation, the operating company of the Japanese FUJIFILM Holdings group. It covers interchangeable lenses for Fujifilm's X and GFX cameras, cinema and broadcast lenses, projector, surveillance and machine vision lenses, and binoculars. The brand dates to 1940, when Fujifilm began making optical glass at its Odawara factory.
In March 1944 Fujifilm took over the business of Enomoto Kogaku Seiki, a binocular maker, and established Fuji Photo Optical Co., Ltd. The subsidiary adopted the brand as its company name, Fujinon Corporation, in 2004, and was absorbed into FUJIFILM Corporation on July 1, 2010, becoming its optical devices division.
FUJINON binoculars have been made since 1947. In 1972 the EBC Fujinon 55mm F3.5 Macro introduced Fujifilm's multilayer Electron Beam Coating, and FUJINON broadcast lenses have received several Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards.
