Kramer
Kramer Electronics Ltd.
Kramer Electronics Ltd. is an Israeli company that designs and manufactures professional audio-visual equipment, including signal management, AV-over-IP, control, audio and collaboration products, used in corporate offices, universities, courts and local government. Joseph Kramer, who held a PhD in pharmaceutical biology and had worked in research and development at a headphone manufacturer, founded it in 1981. The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv and operates subsidiaries and offices in more than 20 countries.
In February 2021 the Israeli private equity fund Fortissimo Capital acquired a majority stake; two other founders, Michael and Ben-Zion Hochstein, kept their holdings, and Joseph Kramer retired. Kramer acquired the hybrid-meeting software provider UC Workspace in 2022 and Ashton Bentley, a UK maker of meeting-room furniture and display mounts, in 2024.
In video, Kramer's 2003 purchase of Sierra Video added broadcast routing switchers for composite, RGBHV, SDI and HD-SDI signals. Its cable range includes HDMI and USB-C cables.
