Videndum Media Solutions S.p.A.
Manfrotto is an Italian brand of camera and lighting supports, including tripods, heads, monopods, light stands and clamps, as well as camera bags, LED lights and smartphone accessories. The brand belongs to Videndum Media Solutions S.p.A., based in Cassola, Italy, with manufacturing in Feltre.
Lino Manfrotto, a press photographer in Bassano del Grappa, began making light stands, booms and telescopic poles at the end of the 1960s. In 1972 he went into partnership with Gilberto Battocchio, a technician at a local engineering firm, and the first Manfrotto tripod followed in 1974. By 1986 the company had six production sites in Bassano and then opened five more in Feltre. The Vitec Group plc bought it in 1989; Vitec renamed itself Videndum plc in 2022. Gitzo, Lowepro and Sachtler are among its sister brands in the group.
Manfrotto's studio products such as the Superboom, Autopole and Super Clamp became common in photo studios, and the company holds more than 60 patents. Lino Manfrotto died in 2017.
