Overview
The Atlas Mercury 36mm T2.2 1.5x Anamorphic Cinema Lens with PL-Mount is a wide-angle anamorphic prime that covers Vista Vision sensors. Wide-angle coverage takes in more of a location than the eye does, which suits establishing shots, landscapes, and interiors where the space carries the scene. Its 1.5x squeeze produces a 2.66:1 field of view on a 16:9 sensor, working equally well on high-end cinema bodies and prosumer cameras. The anamorphic character is more dramatic than a 1.33x and less extreme than a 2x. A fast T2.2 aperture lets camera operators separate subjects from their backgrounds or get the most out of available lighting when filming in darker environments, and the lens closes to T16. It uses a PL-Mount with manual focus. The focus barrel is available in either imperial or metric markings.

Wide Vista Vision Coverage
The lens covers Vista Vision sensors, projecting a 46 mm image circle. A wide-angle field of view holds a subject and its surroundings in one frame, which is what establishing shots, interiors, and landscape work call for.
1.5x Anamorphic Squeeze
A 1.5x squeeze reaches 2.66:1 from a 16:9 sensor, making it flexible across high-end cinema bodies and prosumer cameras alike. Its anamorphic character is more dramatic than a 1.33x and less extreme than a 2x — the middle ground many operators are after.
T2.2 Maximum Aperture
At T2.2 the lens separates subjects cleanly from their backgrounds and gets the most out of available lighting when filming in darker environments. It closes to T16.
Imperial or Metric Focus Scale
The lens ships with either an imperial or a metric focus barrel. The scale is fixed at purchase rather than switchable, so a rental order or a set build has to specify which one is needed.

PL-Mount
The lens mounts via PL-Mount, fitting industry-standard cinema cameras and adapting to most modern cinema and hybrid bodies. It operates fully manually and passes no metadata to the camera.
0.8-Pitch Cine Gears
The lens carries 0.8-pitch cine gears, the standard pitch for follow focus units and lens motors. Compatibility with lens control systems lets a solo operator make consistent, repeatable focus pulls, or a camera assistant control the lens remotely.
95mm Front Diameter
The front element measures 95mm, which fits a compact matte box directly and steps up to a 114 mm clamp with an adapter ring. Matte box fit follows from this measurement rather than from the filter thread, since the clamp grips the outside of the barrel.
