The Canon CN-E 31.5-95mm T1.7 Cinema Lens with PL-Mount is a standard spherical zoom that covers Super 35 mm sensors. A standard focal length sees close to natural human perspective, which suits dialogue and coverage where the framing should not draw attention to itself. A fast T1.7 aperture lets camera operators separate subjects from their backgrounds or get the most out of available lighting when filming in darker environments, and the lens closes to T22. It uses a PL-Mount with manual focus. The focus barrel is marked in feet.

114mm Front Diameter
The front element measures 114mm, which matches the 114 mm standard most matte boxes clamp to directly. Matte box fit follows from this measurement rather than from the filter thread, since the clamp grips the outside of the barrel.
