Overview
The DZOFilm Tango 65-280mm T2.9/4 Cinema Lens with PL & EF-Mounts is a super-telephoto spherical zoom that covers Super 35 mm sensors. Super telephoto focal lengths compress perspective heavily and isolate distant subjects, which suits wildlife, sports, and coverage shot from well outside the action. Its 4.31x zoom range allows camera operators to reframe without repositioning the camera, and a constant T2.9-4 aperture holds exposure steady through the zoom. It uses a PL-Mount and EF-Mount with manual focus.

Key Features
Super Telephoto Super 35 mm Coverage
The lens covers Super 35 mm sensors. A super-telephoto field of view reaches subjects far outside the action, the range wildlife and sports coverage depend on.
User-Interchangeable Mount
The mount can be swapped by the owner, letting one lens follow a camera package across bodies rather than staying tied to whichever mount it shipped with. That matters most to owner-operators buying into a system they expect to change.
Optical Design
4.31x Zoom Range
The 65-280mm range covers 4.31x without a lens change. Reframing happens on the barrel, letting one operator move between a wide and a tight shot inside a single take.
Focus & Handling
1.1 m Minimum Focus
Mount & Rig Integration
PL-Mount and EF-Mount
The lens mounts via PL-Mount and EF-Mount, fitting industry-standard cinema cameras and adapting to most modern cinema and hybrid bodies. It operates fully manually and passes no metadata to the camera.
0.8-Pitch Cine Gears
The lens carries 0.8-pitch cine gears, the standard pitch for follow focus units and lens motors. Compatibility with lens control systems lets a solo operator make consistent, repeatable focus pulls, or a camera assistant control the lens remotely.
114mm Front Diameter
The front element measures 114mm, which matches the 114 mm standard most matte boxes clamp to directly. Matte box fit follows from this measurement rather than from the filter thread, since the clamp grips the outside of the barrel.
105mm Filter Thread
The front accepts 105mm screw-in filters behind a 114mm front element. A matte box clamps to the outside diameter instead, which is what most cine setups use to avoid re-threading filters between lenses.
