Overview

The Leica Elmarit-R 35mm ƒ/2.8 (Version I) Photography Lens with R-Mount is a wide-angle prime introduced in the 1960s. A wide field of view keeps a subject in its surroundings, which is what environmental portraits, street photography and landscape work call for. The ƒ/2.8 maximum aperture separates a subject from its background and holds shutter speed up as the light falls, closing down to ƒ/22. The lens renders with high contrast and fine detail, which is not what most glass of its era does. Its multi-coated elements suppress internal reflection better than the single-coated glass of the same period. The Leica Elmarit-R 35mm ƒ/2.8 (Version I) is a full-frame lens native to the R-Mount system.
