Panasonic Proprietary Batteries
Panasonic's proprietary battery portfolio spans both its consumer mirrorless cameras and its professional video production gear. For the Lumix mirrorless line, the DMW-BLF19 has served generations of GH-series and G9 bodies, while the larger DMW-BLK22 powers more recent S5 II, GH6, GH7, and similar high-draw models. Smaller form factors such as the DMW-BLG10 cover the more compact GX and LX lines. On the camcorder and broadcast side, Panasonic's batteries include the CGA-D54 and various 7.2V and 14.4V packs designed for AG-series and AJ-series cameras, alongside V-mount accessory plates for shoulder-mounted models.
The company's battery strategy reflects the distinction between its photo and broadcast divisions: consumer mirrorless packs are matched to the form factor and draw of each body generation, while the professional video lineup leverages industry-standard mount types such as V-mount where appropriate. Newer Lumix bodies increasingly support USB-C Power Delivery for both charging and direct camera power, expanding operational options for studio and rig-mounted use. Third-party battery compatibility exists across most Lumix models, though Panasonic-branded packs remain the reference for warranty and firmware compatibility.
