Overview

The Sigma 60-600mm ƒ/4.5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Photography Lens with E-Mount is a super-telephoto 60-600mm zoom covering Full Frame sensors. Super-telephoto focal lengths reach subjects that cannot be approached, the working range of wildlife and field sports. A ƒ/4.5-6.3 maximum aperture suits well-lit work and subjects that want more depth of field, closing to ƒ/22-32. Optical stabilization steadies the frame, widening the range of shutter speeds that can be used handheld. Autofocus lets the camera's own subject detection drive the lens, which is what makes it usable for tracking moving subjects and for video. It mounts via E-Mount. Closest focus is 1.5 to 8.5 ft, for a maximum magnification of 1:2.4 (at 200mm).

Features

Key Features

Super Telephoto Full Frame Coverage

The lens covers Full Frame sensors. A super-telephoto field of view reaches subjects far outside the action, which wildlife and field sports depend on.

ƒ/4.5-6.3 Maximum Aperture

ƒ/4.5-6.3 is a moderate maximum aperture, suited to well-lit conditions and to work that wants deeper depth of field, such as landscape and product photography. It closes to ƒ/22-32.

Autofocus

The lens focuses under the camera's control, so hybrid shooters can use the body's own subject detection and tracking rather than pulling focus by hand — the difference between catching a moving subject and losing it.

Optical Image Stabilization

Optical stabilization compensates for hand movement, extending the range of shutter speeds usable handheld and steadying the frame for handheld video.

1:2.4 (at 200mm) Maximum Magnification

A maximum magnification of 1:2.4 (at 200mm) sets how large a small subject renders on the sensor, with a closest focus of 1.5 to 8.5 ft.

De-clickable Aperture Ring

The aperture ring can be switched between clicked and clickless. Clicked stops give repeatable exposure by feel for stills; clickless allows a silent, stepless iris pull during video, which is why the switch matters to anyone shooting both.

Optical Design

60-600mm Zoom Range

The 60-600mm range covers a scene without a lens change, which travel, event and documentary work depend on.

Aperture Control

Hybrid Aperture Control

Aperture can be set either on the ring or electronically from the camera body, so the lens suits a photographer working from the barrel and a hybrid shooter driving exposure from the body without either giving anything up.

Mount & Build

E-Mount

The lens mounts via E-Mount, which sets the bodies it fits directly and those it reaches through an adapter.

Weather-Sealed Construction

Seals at the mount and control rings resist dust and moisture, which matters for landscape and field sports work carried out in the open.
