Overview

The Sirui Jupiter 28-85mm T3.2 Macro Cinema Lens with EF-Mount is an all-in-one spherical zoom that covers Full Frame sensors. An all-in-one range covers wide through telephoto on one lens, which suits documentary and run-and-gun work where there is no time to change glass. The lens opens to T3.2 and closes to T22. It uses an EF-Mount with manual focus. The focus barrel is marked in feet.

Key Features

All-in-One Full Frame Coverage

The lens covers Full Frame sensors, projecting a 44 mm image circle. A range spanning wide through telephoto covers a scene without a lens change, which documentary and run-and-gun shooting depend on.

T3.2 Maximum Aperture

The lens opens to T3.2 and closes to T22, a moderate maximum aperture suited to well-lit sets and to work that wants deeper depth of field.

259° Focus Throw

Its 259° focus throw sits in the standard range for cine glass, spreading distance marks far enough apart for repeatable pulls without making a full rack slow.

Imperial Focus Scale

Distance marks are engraved in feet. Matching scale units across a lens set matters on a crew that calls distances aloud, and mixing feet with meters mid-set invites errors.

Mount & Rig Integration

EF-Mount

The lens mounts via EF-Mount, designed for DSLR bodies and adapting cleanly onto most mirrorless systems, where the longer flange distance leaves room for a simple adapter without corrective optics. It operates fully manually and passes no metadata to the camera.

0.8-Pitch Cine Gears

The lens carries 0.8-pitch cine gears, the standard pitch for follow focus units and lens motors. Compatibility with lens control systems lets a solo operator make consistent, repeatable focus pulls, or a camera assistant control the lens remotely.

114mm Front Diameter

The front element measures 114mm, which matches the 114 mm standard most matte boxes clamp to directly. Matte box fit follows from this measurement rather than from the filter thread, since the clamp grips the outside of the barrel.

67mm Filter Thread

The front accepts 67mm screw-in filters behind a 114mm front element. A matte box clamps to the outside diameter instead, which is what most cine setups use to avoid re-threading filters between lenses.
