Overview

The Tiffen 4x5.65" Black Pro-Mist 1/16 filter is a rectangular 4x5.65 diffusion filter. It is sized for a matte box tray rather than threading onto the lens. Diffusion is rated at 1/16 strength, the lightest grade made, enough to take the edge off digital sharpness and no more.

Key Features

Soft Focus/Diffusion Filter

A diffusion filter lowers contrast and blooms highlights, softening digital sharpness in a way that is difficult to reproduce convincingly in post.

Rectangular Tray Format

The filter slides into a matte box tray rather than threading onto a lens, so one filter serves every lens in a set regardless of front diameter.

4x5.65 Tray Size

The filter is cut to 4x5.65 and fits a matte box tray of that size. Tray sizes are not interchangeable, so a 4x5.65 filter will not seat in a 4x4 stage.

1/16 Diffusion

Diffusion is rated at 1/16 strength, the lightest grade made, enough to take the edge off digital sharpness and no more.
