Tilta Matte Boxes
Tilta's matte box lineup spans entry-level clamp-on designs to full studio-grade modular systems. The Mirage Matte Box uses a proprietary variable ND/IRND system that integrates magnetic ND filter holders with adjustable filter strength, while the Mini Matte Box and MB-T15 lines offer more conventional 4Γ5.65 filter trays in lightweight clamp-on configurations. Larger systems such as the MB-T16 add multi-stage configurations with rotating polarizer trays, swing-away mounts, and standard 15mm LWS rod compatibility, targeting builds that already use Tilta cages, baseplates, and rods.
The matte box line is designed to interoperate cleanly with Tilta's broader rigging ecosystem, sharing rod spacing, mounting standards, and accessory threads with the company's Nucleus follow focus, top handles, and camera cages. Filter formats follow industry-standard sizing β 4Γ5.65, 4Γ4, and 138mm round β to allow integration with third-party filter inventories. Magnetic attachment systems and tool-less swing-out doors reflect a recurring Tilta theme: workflow speed for solo operators and small crews. The product family is positioned to scale from run-and-gun documentary builds to higher-end narrative configurations without forcing customers to switch ecosystems.
