Atlas Mercury 138mm T2.6 1.5x Anamorphic Cinema Lens with PL-Mount

Atlas Lens Co. is a California-based cinema lens manufacturer whose catalog is built almost exclusively around anamorphic optics. The company's flagship Orion series introduced affordable 2x anamorphic lenses to the cinema market in 2018, with focal lengths ranging from 21mm to 100mm covering Super 35 sensor formats. The follow-up Mercury 1.5x anamorphic series, designed for full-frame coverage on cameras such as the ARRI ALEXA LF and Sony VENICE, extended the company's reach into large-format anamorphic capture without the size and price scaling typically associated with established cinema-anamorphic suites.

Atlas's design philosophy centers on character-led optics tuned for traditional anamorphic aesthetics — oval bokeh, blue horizontal flares, and modest geometric distortion at wider focal lengths. The company supplies its lenses in interchangeable PL, LPL, and EF mount configurations, with consistent front diameters across most focal lengths to simplify matte box and filter changes. Atlas has continued to expand the Orion and Mercury catalogs with longer focal lengths, dedicated wide options, and rear-mounted anamorphic adapters intended to integrate with the company's existing optics rather than replacing them.
