The PolarPro 49mm Chroma VND/PL 6-9 Stop filter combines a neutral density and circular polarizer in one round 49mm filter. It attaches to a lens's 49mm front thread and can be stacked with other filters via its own 49mm thread. Density is adjustable across 6-9 Stop, a range intended for bright sun and long exposure rather than general use. Its circular polarizer helps minimize reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces without affecting autofocus or auto exposure. Additionally, the 49mm Chroma VND/PL 6-9 Stop features a 16-layer multicoating that minimizes internal ghosting and reflections.
Key Features
Neutral Density Filter
A neutral density filter cuts the light reaching the sensor without shifting color, so exposure can be set by aperture and shutter rather than by light level.
Round Screw-In Format
The filter threads directly onto the front of a lens, which suits handheld and location work where a matte box would be in the way.
49mm Filter Thread
The filter threads onto a 49mm front thread. A lens with a different thread needs a step ring.
49mm Front Thread
The front of the filter carries its own 49mm thread, so a second filter or a hood can be mounted in front of it.
6-9 Stop Variable Neutral Density
Density is adjustable across 6-9 Stop, a range intended for bright sun and long exposure rather than general use.
Circular Polarizer
Rotating the front ring varies how much reflected light is cut. A circular polarizer is used rather than a linear one so that autofocus and metering are unaffected.
16-Layer Multi-Coating
The glass carries a 16-layer multicoating that minimizes internal ghosting and reflections.
