PolarPro 82mm QuartzLine ND1000/PL (10-Stop) Filter

Overview
The PolarPro 82mm QuartzLine ND1000/PL (10-Stop) filter combines a neutral density and circular polarizer in one round 82mm filter. It attaches to a lens's 82mm front thread and can be stacked with other filters via its own 82mm thread. The filter reduces incoming light by 10 stops, which turns a daylight exposure into one measured in seconds. Its circular polarizer helps minimize reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces without affecting autofocus or auto exposure. Additionally, the 82mm QuartzLine ND1000/PL (10-Stop) features a 16-layer multicoating that minimizes internal ghosting and reflections.
Features
Key Features
Neutral Density Filter
A neutral density filter cuts the light reaching the sensor without shifting color, so exposure can be set by aperture and shutter rather than by light level.
Round Screw-In Format
The filter threads directly onto the front of a lens, which suits handheld and location work where a matte box would be in the way.
82mm Filter Thread
The filter threads onto an 82mm front thread. A lens with a different thread needs a step ring.
82mm Front Thread
The front of the filter carries its own 82mm thread, so a second filter or a hood can be mounted in front of it.
10-Stop (ND1000) Neutral Density
The filter reduces incoming light by 10 stops, which turns a daylight exposure into one measured in seconds.
Circular Polarizer
Rotating the front ring varies how much reflected light is cut. A circular polarizer is used rather than a linear one so that autofocus and metering are unaffected.
16-Layer Multi-Coating
The glass carries a 16-layer multicoating that minimizes internal ghosting and reflections.
