Wooden Camera's matte box catalog includes the Modular Mattebox, UMB-1, and a series of clamp-on and rod-mounted variants designed for sensor sizes ranging from Super 35 to large-format and full-frame cinema cameras. The company's matte-box architecture is explicitly modular — core trays accept additional filter stages, donut adapters, side flags, top flags, and 4×5.65 or 4×4 filter sleeves through standardized bayonet or threaded interfaces. This allows operators to configure single-stage units for handheld and Steadicam shoots and expand the same core to three or four stages for studio configurations.
Construction emphasizes mechanical tolerances and serviceability. Trays use light-rejection seals to limit internal reflections, anodized finishes to reduce flare from ambient light, and toolless filter loading mechanisms that work consistently with both glass and resin filter formats.
