Wooden Camera

Wooden Camera, Inc. is an American company that designs and makes accessories for digital cinema cameras, including cages and base plates, handles, follow focus units, matte boxes, shoulder rigs, and power and video cables. Ryan and Elizabeth Schorman founded it in Dallas, Texas, in 2011. It is now headquartered in Irvine, California, with a showroom in Burbank and other sites in North Carolina, London and Costa Rica that handle development, manufacturing and sales.

The Vitec Group plc acquired Wooden Camera in September 2016 for up to $35 million, with the Schormans staying on to run it. Vitec renamed itself Videndum plc in 2022; Wooden Camera sits in Videndum's Creative Solutions division alongside Teradek and SmallHD.

Its first product, the A-Box, converted the RED Epic's 3.5 mm audio output to XLR. Its catalog now covers cameras from ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon, Blackmagic Design and Fujifilm.
